Music and Sound exist on a continuum, and increasingly, music therapy practice is incorporating forms of singing that employ individual tones, known as toning, or chanting, with an emphasis on the vibrational aspects of the sounds and melodies. The aim of this course is to introduce students to practice of singing, toning and sound in music therapy. Music therapists are discovering new applications for this work, and developments stemming from recent research are resulting in new models and new interventions.
Dr. Snow will present an overview of current practices, and present the latest research in this area.
